Remember a few weeks ago when I threw a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law?  Well the favors for the shower were a hit!

I’ve been getting emails and texts telling how much people are loving that simple sugar scrub I made so I wanted to share it with you.

This was seriously so simple to make and is absouletly heavenly to use.  I actually didn’t get a chance to try it myself until just the other day and WOW!  It feels great!  I even talked the hubby into using some on his hands as well and he too was pleasantly surprised.

You only need a few ingredients for this particular scrub.

Lavender Sugar Scrub

1 cup of olive oil

2 1/2  cups of granulated sugar

6-7 drops of lavender oil

1/2 cup of dried lavender

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until combined well.  Spoon into containers of choice.  I used 1/2 pint jars but you could also store this in tupperware.

The Love Nugget was a great helper when it came to mixing the sugar scrub.

Until he tried to taste it!  Yuck!

This could be made using any essential oil and there’s a ton out there.  An orange or lemon sugar scrub would be awesome to keep by the kitchen sink!

Today the Love Nugget and I were stuck at home.  Well, we did make it out to the gym for spin but after that we were here all day.  I had planned to go to Costco and Target which I desperately need to do since we are completely out of laundry soap.  However, I got an email late last night from one of our wine clubs letting us know our shipment would be arriving sometime today.  Which meant I had to stay home to sign for it.  Of coarse, when I have somewhere I need to be, they don’t show up until the very end of the day.  I mean, 6:00 end of the day 😦  At least we got some yummy wines!

Since we were home all day, we did some arts and crafts 🙂

He enjoyed pulling apart the cotton balls and painting on the glue,

then it was time to place the cotton balls on the paper…

He was into it until the cotton started sticking to his fingers,

he was over it 😦  So we went outside to play while it dried.

Then went and finished up his ghost by glueing on some eyes a mouth and stamping our fingers all over it.

Cute little friendly ghost!

I had wanted to go collect leaves at some point today but again, stuck at home!  Luckily right when the hubby got home, our package arrived.  So we drove to the trail by our house to find some fall leaves.

Such a nice evening for a little family stroll in the woods 🙂  Oh, please excuse my son’s high water jeans.  Poor kid has one pair that fits him and they’re dirty.

Since I didn’t get anything done I had planned today, tomorrow will be an extra busy day.  Costco, Target, gym, play dates, and lots of laundry!  And who says being a stay at home mom is an easy job?

  1. I love the ghost idea! You have definitely inspired me to this and the pumpkin art with Keenan!

I love the card! It is SO true! I get asked all the time about what I do all day, and I just have to laugh! 🙂

    • Thanks! I had to really let go of my control issues to let him do his thing. He kept wanting to pull the cotton off the paper once we had it glued on.
I never really thought it would be easy being a stay at home mom but I didn’t expect it to be so crazy some days! Wouldn’t give it up for the world though 🙂

  2. Love the ghost idea. Hunnie, you are such an unbelievable mom. Love Nugget is one lucky boy 🙂
