I couldn’t resist linking up with Katie over at Healthy Diva Eats for Marvelous in My Monday! We had such a marvelous weekend so it was almost a necessity to join in today!
In case you missed it, our Marvelous weekend was kicked off with a little date night on Friday thanks to the Love Nugget’s Grandpa and Grandma.
After a fun evening, we woke up and got on the road again. After a pit stop at Starbucks of coarse (it’s pretty much our road trip staple). It was supposed to be a VERY hot day. So we wanted to get up to my mom’s house in Anderson early so we could visit the pumpkin patch and beat the heat. After dropping off the White Coyote and picking up Grammie, we headed down the road to a fun pumpkin patch at Hawes Farm.
It was opening weekend and we got there early so I was pretty thankful that it wasn’t too crowded.
They had a ton of fun activities for kids of all ages. Including the hubby…
He couldn’t resist trying to win a new gun by shooting a target with a bow. Boys!
The Love Nugget had a blast running around, checking everything out. He got to go on his first pony ride,
We went with him of coarse…
They pony’s name was Earl and he really liked to stop and eat the corn!
After the pony ride, we took a train ride which the Love Nugget was pretty excited about.
It was starting to really heat up so we made a pit stop for an ice cream cone 🙂
Then ventured out into the pumpkin patch!
He wasn’t quite sure what to do with the giant pumpkin.
Except look cute of coarse 🙂
It was really starting to warm up so we actually didn’t even pick a pumpkin to take home. The field was really large and we would have had to treck through the vines in search of a good one. Next time 🙂
On our way out we stopped so the Love Nugget could bounce on the GIANT air trampoline.
He thought it was so much fun!
I’m so glad we got to go and that Grammie came along too. We all had a great time!
The Love Nugget has needed a haircut for a few weeks now but I haven’t had the time. Luckily. Grammie used to be a stylist and has all the hair trimming supplies at her house. So, the Love Nugget got his first hair cut!
He didn’t really love it.
But we kept him occupied with food 🙂
Later that day, the Love Nugget’s Great Grandpa came over for dinner and they played outside for a bit.
It’s always so great to see the Love Nugget with his Great Grandparents 🙂
He loves that little tricycle too! Everytime we are there he cruises around on it forever!
My mom lives out in the country too with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and we usually get at least one good sunset while we’re there 🙂
After enjoying the sunset, we had a yummy dinner of grilled salmon, salad, a stuffed jalepeno and caprese. Yum!
Sunday we woke up and took the Love Nugget on a little morning walk. Trying to soak up as much of the country as possible while we were there!
Then I got in a little circuit workout while the Nugget napped and the hubby watched football. This was my workout view for the day 🙂
Very peaceful 🙂 I thought about heading to the local gym but instead created a quick little circuit cycle that included some running as well.
This took me about 45/50 minutes with a cool down/stretch. For the running aspect, I ran laps in my moms driveway which was about .10 of a mile up and back. So my 5 minute runs were 6 laps or about .60 of a mile. You could easily skip the running if you wanted and add in 5 minutes on an elliptical, bike, etc. Or none at all and just do each circuit 3 times. I know, 50 of each exercise sounds like a lot but it actually wasn’t too bad 🙂
After my workout, we got ready and headed off to my nephews birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. It was the Love Nugget’s first time there and he had a blast!
You wouldn’t be able to tell that from the picture because he looks so serious but he had a lot of fun! He even high-fived Chuck E Cheese!
We didn’t get home until after 6:30 so it was a quick dinner, bath and off to bed for our busy little guy. He was pretty exhausted because we didn’t hear a peep out of him until 7:00 this morning! Which meant mom and dad got to sleep in too 🙂
As you can see we had such a busy, but super fun weekend!
QUESTION – Do you go to a pumpkin patch during October? What sorts of activities do they have at the ones you go to?
