Wow! We had such a busy fun weekend! Too much to share in one post! Plus, we got home late today and I have a ton of pictures to go through and edit. So I’ll just give you Friday’s recap for now.
The hubby got off work early so we could head up to his Dad’s house just a few hours away.
Orland is a very small farming town so it’s always fun to take the Love Nugget there so he can experience a little country living 🙂
After visiting with some family for a little bit, we left the Nugget with Grandpa and headed into Chico for a little date night. After a long week, I was really looking forward to a night out with my lover.
We both went to school at Chico state so it’s always fun to go back and see old sites and friends.
We went to dinner at a great local restaurant called Fifth Street Steak House. Even though I don’t eat any beef, there are always some really yummy fish options on their menu. Plus, one of my favorite martini’s 🙂
For dinner, the hubby wanted a filet, as usual. I thought about the halibut but I knew I wouldn’t eat it all and didn’t want it sitting in our car. So, the hubby ordered the surf and turf and I took his shrimp. I also ordered a side of grilled veggies. It was perfect!
Sorry, horrible indoor iphone photos!
After our yummy dinner, we met some friends at a bar for some catching up and a few drinks. In case you don’t know, Chico is the hometown for the popular and delicious, Sierra Nevada Brewery. You might have seen their beers in stores or tried a few even, but they carry a huge variety at the brewery and a few local bars. So while in Chico, I always order one of my absolute faves, Crystal Wheat. AKA Old Chico Creek, which if you’re ever in the area, is bottled and sold in grocery stores now!
After spending a few hours visiting, we drove back to Orland to our Love Nugget. It was so nice to get some adult time. The Love Nugget has been really testing us lately and this week was just a little draining. So we were pretty thankful to have family that was willing to watch him while the hubby and I snuck away 🙂 Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!
QUESTION – Do you ever get a chance to go back to your college town to visit?
