Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!!
We had a great Sunday Funday today. After our yummy brunch, we got dressed and rushed out the door. We had planned to go to the zoo but on the way there decided to check out the State Fair instead. Today was the last day and we kept going back and forth about taking the Love Nugget. Since we were on the road by 10:15 and the fair opened at 10:00 we figured it was the perfect time to go. We were right and so glad we went.
We cruised around the exhibits enjoying the sights. We had a lot of fun in Toytopia which was a sort of timeline museum through the history of toys.
I found a few of my favorites from when I was a kid 🙂
While the hubby found a few of his…
Then we found a petting zoo where the Love Nugget got friendly with the animals.
After that we found some more animals to check out…
Some adorable babies 🙂
The little piglets were just 2 days old! So cute!
We also saw some of the biggest cows I’ve ever seen! Real Texas Longhorns. Crazy big!
No joke these cows were almost as tall as I am and I’m 5′ 10″!!!
After seeing all the animals, we realized we were hungry so we went in search of some food. The hubby wanted a corn dog but nothing was looking too appetizing to me. Not even the fried Fruity Pebbles 😉
Really? Fried Cap’n Crunch? Fried Pop Tarts?
Who comes up with this stuff?
We eventually decided that we didn’t really want fair food and left in search of something not fried.
Luckily one of our favorite sushi restaurants was just around the corner so we stopped in for something fresh and cold.
We started with the cucumber salad. Love this dish! So simple but delicious!
Then we ordered two new to us dishes, Fiesta Roll and The Roll. Both were fresh and really good. Except the large fish eggs on The Roll, we picked those off.
The Love Nugget was hungry too and gobbled up all his food.
Once we were home the Love Nugget went down for a nap, the hubby took off to go golf, and I hopped on the elliptical for a little sweat session.
Tonight for dinner I wasn’t very motivated to cook much. Luckily there were leftovers for the hubby because I was craving a green smoothie in a bowl. In the mix tonight was spinach, frozen banana, mixed organic berries, a scoop of Sunwarrior protein powder, a spoonful of Fage greek yogurt and almond milk. I topped it with with some coconut butter and homemade granola, yummy!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
