Hope everyone had a great weekend! We sure did!
It was nice to be home for once! I think we’ve been on the go for the whole month of June. Which has made June just fly by too fast!
Saturday we both managed to do our long run. 9 miles and we both agreed that we felt so much better than when we did our last long run of 8 miles. I think it was that we didn’t have to push the stroller and the Love Nugget. The only bad thing was that we had to take turns but oh well, that’s how it goes with a little one.
After our runs, we cleaned up and headed out to run a few errands. The hubby has been in need of new running shoes and since his birthday is on Tuesday, we went to Nordstrom and found him a pair. I’m hoping to purchase some for myself in a few weeks when they have their big anniversary sale!
We also had to make another stop by Costco for some more of their organic blueberries since the Love Nugget and I managed to eat an entire container in a week! Ummm… they weren’t good or anything 😉
Then we rushed home to make some food to take over to our friends for a bbq. I made my citrus basil quinoa salad and some dark chocolate strawberry shortcake .
They were a hit! So simple and yummy! I usually use a lower calorie angel food cake, but splurged on some full butter pound cake which was nice and firm for the skewers. Stick them on then drizzle with dark chocolate, yum!
We had a great time hanging out and watching the kiddos play/fight over the cozy coupe 🙂
You think they like the car? These boys are too funny!
We didn’t get home until past the Love Nugget’s bed time and joked that even though he didn’t go to bed until later that he would still wake us up bright and early. However, we were pleasantly surprised to not hear a peep out of him until 7:30! Wow!
We had a nice relaxing morning at home enjoying a simple breakfast of green smoothies and oat bars.
Then we headed off to Target to stock up on some household supplies and stuff for our trip. As the Love Nugget gets older, the harder it gets to go shopping by ourselves. Especially when we have a lot to get. So I jump at the chance to have the hubby come along whenever I can!
We came home just in time for the hubby to change and head off to play golf then the Love Nugget and I enjoyed some lunch.
A salad with baby kale, grilled chicken, quinoa and goat cheese for me,
and hummus, cucumbers, macaroni and cheese and chickpeas for the Love Nugget.
He’s been really into dipping his food into hummus lately. Not just his veggies, but anything on his tray. It results in quite a mess but it’s also pretty funny!
I plopped him in the sink following this picture and sprayed him down for a nap.
This is his new fake cry face. Too funny!
He’s still sleeping now! He must have been a tired little guy from all the playing he did yesterday 🙂
While the hubby is golfing I’m getting some laundry done and organizing some stuff for our trip as well as prepping for dinner. On the menu for tonight, blue cheese burgers with sweet potato wedges and citrus basil quinoa salad.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!
